EcoPlanet Bamboo Investment into Research & Development

EPB LABORATORIES

EcoPlanet Laboratories is a subsidiary of EcoPlanet Bamboo Group. We are a research and product development center that provides the science and testing behind the commercialization of the major components of a bamboo plant. We provide internal support to EcoPlanet Bamboo's plantations and industrial operations ensuring that as decisions are made on products, technology and manufacturing facilities, these are done in a manner that meets the highest standards of scientific rigor. We provide external support to partner entities working to industrialize sustainably grown and managed bamboo as an alternative fiber.

Our research covers aspects related to the commercialization of the bamboo species currently under production on EcoPlanet Bamboo's plantations in Nicaragua, Ghana and South Africa, as well as more than 20 additional bamboo species. Our focus is on tropical clumping (sympodial) bamboos, and our product development focuses on 3 unique resources from these plants - bamboo leaves, fiber and water. All silvicultural and ecological research regarding the growing, management and sustainable harvest of bamboo is done directly by EcoPlanet Bamboo.

We work closely with a range of research and technology development institutions, universities and other partners.
